Despite what the previous ers have said, tanking 5 mans in pvp gear is fine. I have seen it done many, many times quite scessfully. I have been grouped with fury warriors using a 2hander to tank in reg 5 mans with
pvp gear and have absolutely no issues. There are norushing blows in 5 mans, hero or regular. It is easier to get urittable in pvp gear than pve gear. I think you only need 197 resil to be urittable in pve.
Plus you will have tons of stam with the pvp gear. If you were talking about tanking raid instaes, then people would be justified in telling you to go sk a lemon with pvp gear, but for
5 mans, it is no problem at all.
uze's right, is it "possible". Regardless, I still wouldn't trust someone to tank for me in PvP gear unless it was full Vengeful or something like that (overgeared for the run). When I see a tank wearing PvP gear I automatally think, "This noob has NOlue wtf he's doing with his gear," and that's that. If I know the person and they know their stuff, that's a different story, but people I don't know, this is the first thing thatomes to mind.
As
the stky states, youan buy the Felsteel Helm, Leggings, and Gauntlets off of the AH for fairlyheap at anytime on most servers. Other than that for bas 5-man tanking see what youan find on the AH that is "of thehampionn" for Stam and Defensive stats. The Felsteels plus a buh of green "of thehampion" stuff should at least get you to 490 def and able to tank 5-mansheros at whh point you will start getting better gear through drops, e. The stky also does a great job of telling you whh quests to do to get Prot Paladin Tank gear, so if you haven't already done those quests, now is the time to go ahead and do them. Edit: If you want to get
to 490 Def as fast as possible, use some + DEF gems in appropriate slots in the Felsteel Gear. Won't give you as mh stamina as youould have, but will give you enough stam and enough def for basally any regular 5-man
as long as your healer and your dps are dent andompetent. Then youan do the 5-mans that will give you even better gear and re-gem the Felsteels for stam oe your defense is high enough without the + DEF gems.
